We have been working for several years to incentivize and reward voluntary blood donors in the Department of Tarija. Today, we took a big step towards consolidation, approval, and enactment of the “Heroes of Life, Light of Hope” Incentive Law, which will benefit all citizens of the region and serve as an example to follow at the national level.

“We have been committed to this important task for some time, and fortunately, we have managed to raise awareness among the Tarija Departmental Legislative Assembly. Today, the Human Rights Committee approved this Incentive Law proposal in full session, which means that voluntary blood donors working in public or private institutions will be entitled to one day or half a day of tolerance to effectively donate blood,” reported Etzel Arancibia, Director of the Tarija Blood Bank.

“We are confident that with this support, the population’s behavior will begin to change. In the near future, hopefully, we can have more blood units and not depend so much on replacement donations or external collections.”

This benefit, which will go to the people of Tarija, demonstrates the commitment of the Tarija Departmental Legislative Assembly to promote the Culture of Voluntary Blood Donation as a social responsibility. It will serve as an example for all authorities who contribute to this noble cause and has the ultimate goal of improving the health of the population in need of blood.
